Tarkan and his exotic movements

MEXICO (SUN) - Tarkan said he liked his way of dancing, because it's an important part of his show. "Dancing is like a body language. I just let my body go with the rythm. I've never taken classes, but I watch a lot of videos and that helps me to move like this."

-How did the germans received your music?
-I think germans needed some rythm, they needed something to turn them on. They enjoy my songs, although my music was assimilated more quickly in France than in Germany.

-Did you ever thought that by dancing this way you'll atract a bigger audience?
-No, I never considered it, I didn't know. When I began performing in Turkey, I realised that dancing was an important part of the music. I owe my success to my fans, because they like what I do.

-Do you think your language poses a problem to introduce your music to new markets?
-I don't think so. For example, I sold 4 million records in Germany. That proves that turkish hasn't been an obstacle. Besides, being in countries like Mexico, where I was well received, that makes me to continue with my music.

-With the acceptance you obtained in Mexico, have you ever considered learning spanish?
-When I visited France, I wanted to learn french, then I went to Italy and wanted to learn italian, and now that I'm in Mexico, I want to learn spanish. I like it because it's a very passionate language. I love it.

-Although very few people know turkish, you can see the girls singing your songs, do you think that's because of the rythm?
-Of course the music has a lot to do with it, but I would really like that people could understand the lyrics. Sometimes, you can't separate the music from the lyrics.

In spite of that, Tarkan is sure his music wouldn't be the same in english. He doesn't want to change his style because of that.
