THE 13TH AMENDMENT 1865
    Abolished (ended) slavery in the United States and in all areas governed by the United States.

THE 14TH AMENDMENT 1868
    Provides that a person born or naturalized in the United States is a citizen of the United States and of the state where he or she is born, and is entitled to equal protection of the law and to be treated according to the law.

THE 15TH AMENDMENT 1870
    Provides that a citizen cannot be denied the right to vote because of race or because of having been a slave.

THE 16TH AMENDMENT 1913

THE 19TH AMENDMENT 1920
    Gave women the right to vote.

THE 22ND AMENDMENT 1951
    No President may serve for more than two terms.

THE 24TH AMENDMENT 1964
    No one can be required to pay a poll tax in order to vote.

THE 26TH AMENDMENT 1971
    Lowers voting age from 21 to 18.
