TWO OF A KIND

The Olsen Twins return to ABC in a new family comedy with romantic twist. Kevin Burke (Christopher Sieber) is a science professor. and single father who believes there is a scientific explanation for everything -- except how to control his scheming pre-teen daughters!

Mary-Kate and Ashley are identical twin sisters who are complete opposites. Mary Kate is a tomboy whose biggest interest is perfecting her curve ball; and Ashley is a straight-A student starting a boy-crazy phase. Enter Carrie (Sally Wheeler), a 28-year-old freshman in Kevin's seminar who has come late to college after exploring the world.

Carrie is quirky, difficult, beautiful and quick to speak her mind, so when she answers Kevin's ad for a part-time nanny, he is convinced she's nothing but trouble. The girls think she is a dream-sitter come true and agree to put their differences aside and join forces to make a little chemistry between their by-the-book dad and the beautiful woman who seems to drive him crazy in all the right ways.

A Scene from Two Of A Kind

Here's a scene from the episode "When A Man Leaves A Woman" Which aired March 26, 1999.

(The scene takes place in the twins' bedroom. Ashley is on the computer, and Mary-Kate walks in. )
MK: Hey!
A: Mary-Kate, you scared me.
MK: Good. Then the day wasn't a total waste. So, what are you doing that you're not supposed to be doing?
A: I found that handbag I wanted on the Internet. I'm going to order it.
MK: But Dad said you couldn't have it. How do you plan on paying for it?
A: I found Dad's credit card statement. Did you know that they leave the account number on these puppies?
MK: Just a second. I'll be right back. (Mary-Kate walks over and shuts the door) Are you crazy? I wouldn't even try something like that. I can't believe you're dumb enough to... Wow! That is a nice handbag! Can I have it after Dad kills you?
A: See, I'm not actually buying it. After I take it to Jennifer's party, I'm going to send it back. It's just like borrowing from Carrie, only I'm borrowing from Bloomingdale's.
MK: Ashley, I can't let you do this.
A: Oh yeah? One click of the mouse and it's a done deal.
(Mary-Kate grabs Ashley as she tries to go for the mouse. The two girls are fighting and screaming at each other.)
MK: Ashley, no!
A: Mary-Kate, stop!
MK: You're going to be grounded for...
(Knock on door. Girls stop fighting and talk in a sweet tone)
MK&A: Who is it?
C: Carrie. (she opens the door and see's Mary-Kate's arms wrapped around Ashley)Ok, what's going on?
MK: Oh I was just showing Ashley how to do the heimlich.
A: Yeah, it's for first-aid class. (she shoves Mary-Kate's hands off) Tomorrow I get to show Mary-Kate how to cleanse an open wound.
Yeah right! Listen, you guys, I just came up because Paul called to invite me to go riding tomorrow, and Mary-Kate, you love horses, I thought you might want to come.
MK: Uh, no thanks. I'm not into riding anymore.
C: Oh, ok. So it's me and Paul. Just the two of us. Maybe I'll take my walkman. (she leaves the room. Mary-Kate walks toward the door, and around her bed. Ashley runs to the computer and clicks the mouse, and ordered the bag)
A: Yes! Hey, why didn't you try to stop me?
MK: Cause this is the kind of thing that can get me my own room.
