Lefauchaux Pinfire Revolver-The pinfire ignition systemwas invented by Casimir Lefauchaux in 1828 but was not widely seen until the 1850's. It consisted of a smooth rimless case that contains the powder and a percussion cap. A pin protrudes from the side of the case and when struck fired the percussion cap. This particular model has a 2½" barrel with a six shot .32 caliber, (or slightly less),cylinder and appears to have been blued with wooden grips.
