Lefauchaux, Casimer, & Eugene Pinfire Revolver |
Lefauchaux Pinfire Revolver-The pinfire ignition systemwas invented by Casimir Lefauchaux in 1828 but was not widely seen until the 1850's. It consisted of a smooth rimless case that contains the powder and a percussion cap. A pin protrudes from the side of the case and when struck fired the percussion cap. This particular model has a 2½" barrel with a six shot .32 caliber, (or slightly less),cylinder and appears to have been blued with wooden grips. This revolver is all there and functional including the loading gate spring, of the number of these that I,ve seen that is fairly rare. NOTE:>To get a look at another pinfire pistolCLICK HERE |
