2CV Sahara

The Citroen 2CV Sahara is a 4X4 2CV, equipped with two engines, at front and at the back of the car.

The idea of a 4X4 2CV was inspired from a 2CV built  by a Citroen concessionary in Landes (France), Mr. Bonnafous, that , in 1954, transformed a normal 2CV, putting a 375 cm3 engine in the back.

Citroen became interested by  this project, and, mainly because of the French petroleum camps in Algeria,  commercialized its version, the Citroen 2CV Sahara, which was presented to the press in March 1958.

Production (1958-1971): 693 units
