WHAT IS ASID?

American Society of interior Designers is the oldest and largest professional interior design organization with over 30,000 professional members and student chapters in over 200 schools.

WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN ASID AS A STUDENT MEMBER?

The goal of the U.C.Berkeley Extension chapter is to help student members connect with each other and with the professional world of interior design through opportunities, knowledge and associations and to address the educational experience shared by students. ASID is focused on providing support, education and a "professional voice" for the interior design profession.

Specifically:

UCBX has a student web site and on-line newsletter: http://members.tripod.com/ucbx_asid_newsletter
UCBX maintains a bulletin board on the 2^nd Floor of Richardson Hall at the Laguna Campus.
UCBX and the four other FIDER accredited Bay area Schools have joined together to create the Alliance of Northern California Student Chapters. The intent of the Alliance is to create opportunities for studentnetworking and offer opportunities for continued learning by working together to put on various workshops and showcase events.
As a member your will receive two National Publications ACCESS and ICON–aimed at providing insider information on the working world of interior design.

You are welcome to attend the Northern California Professional Chapter of ASID events and meetings where you have an appointed Student Rep to the Board.

Upon graduation you are extended a membership freefor one year as an Allied Member of the Professional Chapter. When you have passed the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualifying) exam, you may become a recognizedProfessional ASID member. ASID provides Workshops and self testing materials through its STEP program to assist you to accomplish this.
While a student member, you will receive discounted or free admission to to design events,opportunities to enter ASID Competitions,apply for ASID scholarships, and much more!

Fill out the OFFICIAL FORM *,print and send it with a check for $45 ($35 to National and $10 for our student chapter)
