The First Four:
       Part Four: Together Again
	Kunzite lay Minako down on a bed in the palace infirmary.  Ami trailed right behind him grabbing various medical equipment.  She had already sent a servant to find Serenity.  She wished Hotaru wasn't visiting Setsuna at the Time Gate.  She could use her help.  
			
   			         *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Endymion burst into his and Serenity's room pushing aside the heavy double doors ornamented with a gold crescent moon inscribed in the sapphire and emerald symbol of Earth.  Thousands of thought's flew threw his head at seemingly the same time.  How was he going to tell her?  Endymion caught sight of Serenity taking a nap in her favorite armchair.  He walked forward quietly face grim with the news he had to tell her.  She stirred in her sleep as he approached.  He took her slim hand in his and whispered her name.  Her eyes fluttered open and she looked into his worried face.
	" What happened!  What's wrong," she said fully awake now.  Automatically knowing something was wrong.  
	" Usa Minako's been hurt," Endymion said softly.  Serenity didn't hesitate.  She picked up her staff that held the Silver Crystal and without saying a word she ran out the door heading for the infirmary Endymion close on her heels.
 
			           *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Kunzite sat in a chair face cradled in his hands.  He barely looked up as Serenity rushed into the infirmary.  What if she died?  Kunzite shook his head trying to physically shake the thought from his head.  She couldn't die.  She couldn't.  
	Serenity stood by Minako's bed.  This was her fault.  All her fault she thought to herself.  Them coming back and now this.  Without hesitation she placed a hand on Minako's wounded head.  A white blaze erupted and the wound disappeared leaving no trace that it had ever been there.  Serenity took her hand away faintly feeling the weakness that always came when she used her powers.  Endymion stepped toward and she allowed herself to lean on him for support as she looked at Ami.  Her eyes silently asking the question of how this happened.

		                   *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Serenity walked out of the infirmary face weary.  She placed a hand on Kunzite's shoulder.  Was he crying?  She had never seen Kunzite cry.  " Is she going to die?"  Kunzite finally got out. 
	" No, the wound was deep but not fatal," Serenity said.
	" But she fell so far and the rocks…" Kunzite trailed off.  " I couldn't live with myself if anything happened to her not after…after what I did to her," he said regaining his voice.  " I love her and she'll never forgive me."  He looked up at Serenity who had tears running down her face.  
	" I forgave you a long time ago," a voice from the door way said.

           	                  *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Ami ran her hand through her short blue hair and sighed.  She had left right after she was sure Minako was okay and sleeping soundly.  As she was on her way out she had seen Serenity talking to Kunzite.  The name sounded so unfamiliar after all these years.  She just had to get out of there and think.  She quickly walked to the library finding it deserted.  She was surrounded by hundreds of bookcases.  In front of her was a table, which contained a crystal chess set.  To her left was a gigantic fireplace.  There were armchairs spread all over but this was her favorite spot.  Maybe it was because the chair was just soft enough or maybe it was the smell of books.  Maybe a voice whispered in the back of her head it's because you first fell in love with him in a library much like this one.  Ami was swept back through time reliving the past she had tried so hard to forget but she still remembered everything.  She sat in front of the chessboard in the library at the Moon Palace.  She was stuck.  No one had ever beaten her at chess before.  She had been playing since she was three.  Her father was the best chess player in the Silver Millenium.  	She looked up at the man sitting across from her blushing slightly as he gazed at her.  She quickly glanced back down at the board.  There!  She had a move!  Checkmate she cried triumphantly eyes blazing.  She looked up to see him standing above her.  She slowly stood up and he wrapped his arms around her…NO!  Ami brought herself out of the memory with a violent jerk.  She buried her face in her hands and drew her knees up to her chest her body wracked with silent sobs.  If Kunzite was back then the others were too.  Zoicite's back and I'm still in love with him.  The thought ran through her mind over and over.
	He watched her.  He took a step forward then stopped hesitating.  Could he confront her after all these years?  He had caused her so much pain.  He came to a decision.

		                   *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Rei sat in the garden half concealed by a large rose bush.  Her thoughts were jumbled.  She still loved him but she didn't trust him.  What was love without trust?  She tried to remember what he was like before the war where Beryl had destroyed the Moon Kingdom.  Her memories were so blurry. It was like she was in a fog only remembering bits and pieces clearly.  Why hadn't she regained all her memories?  It seemed as if she only remembered the good times.  No that wasn't true she remembered the battle.  She could still fell the cool medal sliding through her abdomen and the pain.  The pain had been unbearable.  She picked a rose of the overflowing bush next to her studying its beauty.  She winced in pain as a thorn stuck deep into the soft flesh of her finger.  	She watched as the blood welled up beading into a tiny orb.  A hand reached out of seemingly nowhere pressing gently on the finger stopping the blood flow.
	" Rei we need to talk."
 
			        *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Endymion had left the infirmary when Ami did leaving Serenity to comfort Kunzite.  He might as well do what he had started to do earlier.  He cut across the inner courtyard and stopped dead in his tracks.  
	Nephrite glanced up almost unconscious with fatigue.  He had been walking for days or weeks maybe months.  The time had all ran together.  He had followed the stars.  He had seen her earlier.  Her beauty had not been lessened by time.  He had followed her here and now he was face to face with the man who had once been his sovereign and friend.  " Your highness," he got out right before he collapsed.
Endymion stood with his mouth open for a split second then began yelling for servants.  Telling them to take this man to the west wing and take care of him.

			       *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	" I don't have anything to say to you Jadeite."
	" But I have something to say to you.  Will you listen?"  Rei turned her head away from him.  He took this as a yes and sat down on the other end of the bench.  " Rei I'm sorry.  I know I don't deserve to be forgiven but…I had to ask.  I don't except you to forgive me and I don't expect you to love me," he broke emotion choking his voice.  He got down slowly on his knees taking her hand in his.  " Rei I still love you.  I'll always love you.  You're part of my soul."  He waited in silence.  Rei still hadn't looked at him.  She showed no emotion.  He sighed deeply slowly got up and walked away without looking back.
	" Wait," Rei whispered.  " Don't leave me.  I love you."  But he was to far away to hear her heartfelt plea.  Rei collapsed onto the bench sobbing.  The rose bush next to her suddenly began to shed its petals.  The rose petals swirled in the air covering her from view.

			                   *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Makoto unsaddled her horse and groomed him filling his manger with fodder.  She walked out of the stable heading for her quarters.  She was blissfully unaware of what had been going on that day.  She whistled a song to herself as she walked down the hallways that held her rooms.  She thought she saw someone up ahead but quickly dismissed it.  The palace was so large it was hard to keep track of anyone.  It was unusual that she hadn't seen someone before this.  She wanted to find one of Hotaru's assistants to ask them about the dog but that would wait until after a shower.  Up ahead she saw a man with blood hair walking into the library.  He looked familiar but she couldn't quite but her finger on how.  Oh well she thought to herself.

				          *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	"Ami?"
	" Go away," Ami said thinking it was one of her friends.  
	" Ami I need to talk to you."  Ami finally looked up seeing who she had been dreading seeing since she had saw Kunzite this morning.  
	" I don't want to talk to you Zocite."
	" Then don't.  Just listen.  Please."  When he got no response he started talking.  " Ami please forgive me.  I know what I did…was…is unforgivable but I love you and don't think that I could live if you hated me.  Please Ami talk to me.  Give me some sign.  If you want I'll leave and you'll never have to see me again.  I would never hurt you purposely.  It wasn't really me who did those things I know it was all my fault but I…I'm so sorry Ami please forgive me.  I 'm sorry.  I'm so… so sorry."
	Ami turned her head tears streaming down her face.  She jumped out of her chair and ran into his arms.  " I forgive you.  I forgive you.  I love you.  I've always loved you.  Never leave me."
	Zocite tilted her chin up and looked in her eyes.  " Ami I swear I will never leave you and I will never ever betray your trust again." 

				              *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* 

	Nephrite opened his eyes and looked around.  Now he remembered he had seen her and then the prince and now he was here.  He climbed out of bed looking around for his clothes.  There was a black uniform lying on the chair next to his bed.  For lack of anything else he put it on.  He realized that it was the uniform of the Earth Kingdom.  The Prince is to good to me he thought to himself.  He walked out the door.  He had to find her and talk to the Prince.

				               *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	" I forgave you a long time ago."
	Serenity looked up to see Minako standing in the doorway.  She looked down a Kunzite who was to shocked to say anything.  She smiled at Minako and patted Kunzite on the shoulder then left to seek out her husband. " Minako you shouldn't be out of bed.  Your head…" Kunzite stuttered.  
	" I'm fine."  Minako said.  " Really."
	" Oh Mina-chan.  I'm so sorry."  Kunzite said going down on his knees in front of her.  " I love you.  I would never ever hurt you on purpose.  Please forgive me.  I can't stand the thought of living without you."
	A battle raged in Minako.  She had forgiven him so long ago but could she trust him?  There was no doubt that she loved him.  Could she risk everything for love?  " I forgive you.  I love you.  I still love you…" Minako lost control of her emotions as he wrapped his arms around her waist burying his head in her stomach.  She let lose the tears that she had held in so long and Kunzite repeated his vow of undying love as he felt the tears drop onto his head.

				            *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Makoto pulled her long hair back into a French braid and threw on some clothes.  It was almost time for supper and she wanted to try out a new recipe.  She walked down to the kitchens.  She decided to take the shorter route past the West Wing and through the inner courtyard.  She stopped in her tracks and she saw who was walking her away.  " What the hell…" she paused as the full implication of what she saw hit her.  Then she fainted.  
Minako and Kunzite broke apart as they saw Makoto coming toward them.  " I guess she hasn't heard," Minako said as Makoto collapsed on the ground.  

				*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Endymion found Serenity in the kitchens.  " Oh Endy I was just looking for you but I got hungry and came down here," Serenity said smiling up at her husband.  " Would you mind getting that down for me?" she said pointing up at a box of crackers.  Endymion reached above pulling down the box of crackers.
	" Serenity Nephrite's back," he said as he watched fascinated as she headed toward the refrigerator pulling out a jar of peanut butter and a jar of pickles.
	" Oh I thought he would be with everyone else back," she said continuing to make a sandwich out of the ingredients she had selected.
	" Yes but how did they come back?"
Serenity sighed.  " I really don't know.  The best I can think of is that Beryl's spells just wore off," she said biting into her concoction.  " What?" she said with her mouth full as she caught Endymion staring at her with a look of confusion.
	" Usa what are you eating?"

			            *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Kunzite and Minako took Makoto back to her rooms and lay her on her bed.  Kunzite went to go find Serenity and Minako sat by her side just in case she woke up.
Kunzite found Serenity and Endymion walking out of the kitchens.  " Your Majesties Makoto ummm…well…she saw Minako and I…and know she fainted and… well."
	" Kunzite that's the second time today I've seen you at a loss for words," Serenity said smiling.  	" Go see if you can find Nephrite.  Endymion will you please find Ami.  I'll go see Makoto," Serenity said carrying off her sandwich.
	" What's she eating?" a bewildered Kunzite asked staring after the Queen.

			            *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	" Makoto are you all right?" she heard a voice ask her.  She opened her eyes to see Serenity's concerned face looming above her.  She looked around.  She was in her room but how had she gotten here.  Oh yes she had fainted because she had seen…She sat straight up in bed.  " They're back aren't they?"
	" Yes Makoto they're back."  Makoto lay back down on the bed.  
	" Is he here?"
	" Yes."  At that moment the door opened.  
	" Makoto can I talk to you?"  Makoto turned her head away refusing to talk to the man who had caused her so much pain.  She looked up in alarm as Serenity left leaving her with him.  She looked up at the man she had once loved.  No that she still loved and she knew in her heart that she could not deny him anything especially not forgiveness.

			          *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Outside of Makoto's door were Serenity, Ami, Endymion, Minako, Kunzite, and Zoicite.  " Has any one seen Rei?" said Serenity glancing around.
	They all shook their heads.  " What about Jadeite?" questioned Ami.  
	They all shook their heads again.  " Hopefully they're together," Serenity sighed.  She knew how stubborn Rei could be.  She sent up a silent prayer that Rei would see past what had happened and move on.  Serenity yawned and realized just how tired she was even though it was only seven o' clock or so.  It had been a very long few days and she hadn't gotten very much sleep.  " I 'm so happy to see that everything is working out.  I knew it would," Serenity said smiling happily at her friends.  " Goodnight."
	" I'll be there soon Usa," Endymion said looking slightly concerned. 
	" Alright."
	" Ami," Endymion said, " Do you think she might be sick?"
	" Oh I doubt it has been a long week.  She probably just needs sleep," Ami replied stifling a yawn herself.  
	" I'm starving," Minako said.
	" Then by all means lets go get something to eat," Kunzite said wrapping in arm about her waist and leading her towards the kitchens.  Ami and Zoicite followed.  Endymion headed towards his rooms following his wife.

		                   *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

	Serenity decided to go past Rei's room to check on her.  Serenity knocked gently on the door that had the Ruby seal of mars carved into it.  After a few minutes a pale Rei opened the door.  She had stray rose petals strewn in her hair and her eyes were puffy from crying.  " Oh Rei what happened," Serenity said alarmed.  She rushed into the room and sat Rei down in a chair.  She ran to get her a glass of water and then deciding it was too stuffy in the room opened the balcony doors letting the cool evening air in.  She handed the glass of water to Rei and sat down in a chair across from her.  
	" Oh Serenity.  I'm such an idiot.  I think I just chased away the only man I could ever love," Rei cried breaking into sobs.  She looked up with tears streaming from her eyes, " You know I've been crying way to much lately."
	" We all have Rei.  We all have," Serenity whispered as she got up to give her friend a hug.
Serenity left Rei's room shutting the door gently behind her.  She sighed deeply.  It had been a very long day.
Rei woke up screaming.  The nightmares never ceased they were always there but they had changed.  	Now instead of him killing her.  It was him leaving her.  No it was her chasing him away with unrational fears.  She got up silently and looked at the clock beside her bed.  It was about half past one.  She slipped on a robe and slipped out the door.  She turned corners and went down hallways until she arrived at her destination.  She didn't bother knocking she didn't think she had the courage.  She slipped into the room.  The only light was the light cast by the moon, which shone in through an open window.  She looked at the sleeping man who lay in the bed before her.  " Jadeite."  He stirred muttering some thing in his sleep.  " Jadeite," Rei said venturing closer.  
	" Rei," he said his eyes fluttering open.
Rei went to the side of his bed.  " I'm so sorry Jadeite.  I love you and I was wrong."  Jadeite opened his mouth to speak but Rei silenced him by putting a finger to his lips.  " No let me talk.  Otherwise I won't be able to get everything out.  I realize now that it wasn't you who did those terrible things and you would never do anything to hurt me.  I'm sorry can you ever forgive me?"
	" Rei I'm the one, who's supposed to be asking you forgiveness not the other way around," Jadeite stated with a wide grin on his face.  " But if you insist I forgive you Rei with one condition."
	" What," Rei asked.
	" If you kiss me right now."  Rei was only too happy to comply.

	The next morning Serenity woke up with a start looked over at her husband clamped a hand over her mouth and ran for the bathroom.  Endymion woke up when he heard his wife get out of the bed and make a mad dash to go somewhere.  He rubbed his the sleep out of his eyes and watched his wife come out of the bathroom a hand clinched over her stomach.  " Are you alright?"  Endymion asked.  
	" Endy I have something to tell you.  I think we're going to have a baby," Serenity barely got it out before she ran back to the bathroom.  Endymion fell back onto the bed unconscious.
