"Life's just a bed of rose, Complete with thorns." -Setsuna (Sara)- @)---,-'--- In a small house somewhere in Japan... Serena stretched her body out over her bed, wiping her tears from her eyes and remember the way it once had been. When Darien had held her and whispered, "I Love You." in her ear. But now those days were gone. Lost in the wind never to return. She didn't even know why? Why did he leave?? Was she too clumsy? Or maybe she was too much of a baby? Was it because he didn't like her hair? Why? Did he not like the age difference? Or had her dad finally yelled at him once too often? What ever the reason Serena was sure she could change if he'd just tell her. For Darien she'd gladly chop off every inch of her majestic golden hair or study every waking hour until the end of time if he would come back to her. She would learn to be more graceful and she'd stop whining and bickering if only he'd come back to her. Serena rolled over again now face down in her pillow letting her tears disappear into the fabric. How she wished he'd just tell her what was wrong so they could be together again. She just wanted to be with him no matter the price. She'd gladly pay her life just to spent an hour in his arms... 'What should I do?' she asked herself as a new wave of sobs tore through her. @)---,-'--- Across town.... Darien walked out onto his balcony and leaned against the railing. He held back his tears not allowing them to fall. God how this was killing him... How he just wanted to run over to Serena's and gather her up in his arms and never let her go. But he couldn't... He had to stay away so she could live and be happy. Darien would do anything to see her happy even if it meant he had to give up his own happiness he would gladly pay the price. Darien turned and re-entered his apartment with tears still threatening to fall. Was he doing the right thing? Maybe this dream was just a trick? But... did he really want to take the chance? COULD he take the chance? He would gladly trade his life for hers. She was his world, his heaven and his earth. It tore at the depths of his soul shunning her like this but it was for her own good. 'Yes, for her own good...' he reminded himself as his tears did finally slide down his face. I cry myself to sleep, Each night I spend dreaming Of you and your warmth. The warmth that I no longer feel. For you have left me all alone, With no one but myself And bitter loneliness. Slick tears stream down my face Falling slowly to the floor. Falling for what I have lost When you walked away from me. I lost your warm smile As well as your cheery laugh Your sweet voice And bright beautiful eyes. I miss the way you could, Light up a room with just a wink Or make the dark days vanish With just a soft kiss. But what I miss most That can never be equaled Is your Love.
