Konnichi wa, minna! I'm writing this story in school, so it will probably be pretty short, as far as parts go. It's yet another romance, but this one is about my favorite incarnation of Mamoru.. *~!~**~!~**~!~* Dreamweaver *~!~**~!~**~!~* "Come on," I coaxed. "Come out of there!" "NO! I'm not coming and you can't MAKE me!" Her voice was hoarse from crying. She had locked herself in the bathroom and it didn't look like she'd be coming out anytime soon. "Serenity.." with a sigh, I put my back to the door and slid down it until I was sitting. "Come out, baby. Nobody can tell!" "Yes they can! Don't you know what a big deal this is?! I.. I'm getting old, Endy, and it's starting to show!" "SeRENity.. it's a tiny wrinkle.. you are 3000 years old!" "You don't understand!" she wailed. "YOU still look young!" I sighed in frusteration. "I'm not even going to try," I growled. "You've always had a mind of you own." I closed my eyes. Slowly, the door opened. She knealt down behind me, put her arms around me, and rested her chin on my shoulder. I was suddenly surrounded by long silver hair. "I'm sorry, Endy," she whispered. Her breath was warm and soft on my neck. "I guess I overreacted.." "Sere.. don't worry about it, okay? It's important to you to look good, I guess, although you would look good ANYWAY.." "Yeah.. I mean, the other scouts, and you too, you all look so young, and I'm starting to look like.. like an old hag!" I turned my head, trying to look at her. "You could never look like a hag! You are as beautiful as you were when I first saw you.. Odango Atama." "Oh, YOU!" She shoved me away. I turned around and looked at her. She was so beautiful, kneeling there in the doorway, silver hair strewn about her. I slowly crawled towards her. When I was close to her, I reached out and stroked her hair. "Usako.. don't worry about it.. at least nobody noticed your grey hair." I instantly regretted saying that. WHAM!! I found myself sprawled out on the floor. "Serenity, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have said that!" "JERK!" she shouted. She huffed out the room. "YOU can sleep with Reenie tonight!" I groaned and fell back onto the carpet. Why can't I THINK before I say things? I am such an idiot sometimes, I even surprise myself. With a sigh, I rose to my feet. A figure stepped out of the shadows. In an instant, a rose was in my hand. "You are quick to attack, my king," said a soft voice that I had come to respect over the course of time. Sailor Pluto, the Guardian of Time, stood before me. "Sailor Pluto," I said. "You startled me." "I apologize," she said softly. "I have come from the past. The dreams you are sending Darien are working, because he dumped Serena today." There was a faint look in her red eyes I couldn't place. I sighed and hid my face in my hands. "I hate doing this to them," I said softly. "If Serenity ever found out.." "You.. YOU!!" I spun around. Serenity stood in the door, and she looked VERY angry. "HOW CAN YOU BE SO CRUEL!?!?" she shouted. "DO YOU KNOW THE PAIN I WENT THROUGH WHEN YOU DUMPED ME?? WHY are you DOING this to them?" "Serenity, I have no choice, I.." "Sailor Pluto.. please open the time gate.. send HIM back in time to fix what he has done, before it all crashes around us.." Sailor Pluto gazed evenly at Serenity. "As you wish, my queen," she said softly. She opened the timegate and turned to Endymion. "Well.. I wish you luck. Have a safe trip." "Wh, what? Aren't you going to do something? I can't go back in time! What will I do? Pose as Darien?" I stammered. "I can't go!" "You'll have to decide for yourself," said Sailor Pluto softly. I felt myself being pulled towards the gate. The last thing I saw was Serenity's angry, tear-stained face. "I hope you learn something from this.. for your sake.. for OUR sake. Goodbye." "Usako!" I cried. Too late. I found myself standing in a park. I looked around frantically, then down at myself. I was wearing the outfit I usually wore in this time - black jeans, black shirt, and green jacket. With a sigh, I jammed my hands in my pockets and started down the sidewalk. Within seconds, I felt a hand on my shoulder. Turning, I found myself gazing straight into the eyes of.. "Serena?" "Darien," she said. "I.. I'm sorry, whatever I did, I can change, really! You have to believe me!" As much as it hurt me to do so, I wasn't her Darien, so I had to harden my heart to her. "It's not your fault, Serena. I just don't love you anymore. So get used to it!" Her blue eyes filled with tears. Oh God, how I wanted to take her in my arms and hold her tightly, but I couldn't. With a cry, she turned around and ran off. I sighed and hung my head. I started on my lonely walk again. These thoughts kept repeating in my mind as I walked down the street. Finally, I found myself at the apartment building where my alter-ego lived. "Well, nothing to lose, I guess," I muttered. I opened the door and walked up the stairs. When I reached the place I used to live, my old apartment, I grew very nervous. Finally, I just knocked on the door. "Coming!" called a voice. The door opened, and I was staring at myself. "AGH!" Darien let out a cry and fell back. "Hey! Are you alright?" I knealt down beside him and put my hand on his shoulder. "I, uh, yeah.. who ARE you?" I smiled. "Neo-King Endymion. I know, you're surprised.. let me start from the beginning.." *~!~**~!~**~!~* 2 hours later, Darien and I were sitting in his living room. "So," he said, "Queen Serenity sent you here because you guys had a bad fight?" "Basically," I said. I didn't tell him that it was my fault he was having those dreams. "Hmm. Well, of course, you can stay here, but what will we tell the others?" "Tell them I'm your, ah, twin brother?" I suggested. "You know my past as well as I do. You ARE me. Nobody's gonna buy that, ESPECIALLY not.. not.." his voice trailed off. "Serena," I said softly. Darien's eyes filled with pain. He glanced away. "I'm sure you know what I'm going through," he whispered. "Yeah," I said. "I do." I leaned back in the chair. "I'll give you some advice, friend. Ignore the dreams. Follow your heart. You won't be happy until you can be with her again." "But, I can't!" he cried. "She'll get hurt, or WORSE! .. Maybe.. would you? I mean, I hate to see her in pain. Can you take over for me?" "You mean.. be Tuxedo Mask.. everything?" I asked in disbelief. "Yeah. Just for a little while. Please?" He looked at me with sad eyes. I glanced at myself in the mirror. My hair was black again. "Setsuna, what ARE you up to.." I muttered. I looked back at Darien. "Okay. I'll take over for you." "THANK YOU!" he cried. He pulled out the rose and handed it to me. "Try, see if it will work." I looked at the rose in my hand and was hit with such a sense of nostalgia that my head spun. I recomposed myself and held the rose high. Within seconds, I was Tuxedo Mask again. "Whoa," I muttered. Suddenly, I felt a new sensasion. One I hadn't felt in centuries. I tensed. "Sailor Moon needs me!" Within seconds, I was out the window and gone. When I reached the battle site, I pitched a rose at the ground. The battle stopped and all eyes turned to me. I said to myself. "When a flower is in bloom, it is not wise to try and crush it. Tuxedo Mask will not forgive you!" I chuckled to myself. I hopped out of the tree and Sailor Moon finished off the youma. Must have been a really easily distracted one. "Tuxedo Mask," she whispered. All the other scouts took up fighting positions. "You better start running, Cape Boy," growled Sailor Jupiter. "I'm going to FRY you for what you did to Sailor Moon!" "Wait, Sailor Jupiter!" cried Sailor Venus. "Look at his eyes! He still loves her.." I didn't wait for her to finish, I just gazed at Sailor Moon. I rushed forward, lifted her into my arms, and jumped. Away from everything. Away from prying eyes and accusing voices. When I put her down again, it was on the roof of a building. "Tuxedo Mask..?" Sailor Moon gazed at me with wide blue eyes. I hesitated. "Sailor Moon. Listen to me. You must know the truth! I do love you, more than anything, but I can NOT be with you, do you understand me? You could get hurt, or much, much worse. Please forgive me.." Within seconds, she had thrown her arms around me and buried her face in my chest. I thought. "Sailor Moon, please.. did you hear a word I said?" "I heard you, Tuxedo Mask, and I don't care if I get hurt! I just want to be with you, don't you understand!?" I looked down at the top of her head. She turned her face upward to look at me. "Don't you care?" she whispered. I felt whatever resolve I may have had left shatter. I threw my arms around her and pulled her close to me. "You know I care," I said softly. "And it's because I care that I have to do this." "Then.. stay with me tonight, that's all I ask, and then you never have to see me again." Her voice was muffled. I felt myself freeze. I thought. "Sailor Moon! You can't be serious!" When she looked up at me, I could tell just how serious she was. "Sailor Moon, this has to be the worst idea I've ever - " I was cut off when she kissed me. I thought angrily. *~!~**~!~**~!~* When I woke up the next morning, Serena was curled up in my arms. In a flash, the events of the previous night came back to me. I rolled over and buried my face in my pillow. I cursed myself. I sighed and removed my face from the pillow. "Muffin?" mumbled Serena. "Is something wrong?" "No, Serena," I said. "Go back to sleep, alright? I'm going to get up." So she did, and so I did. One shower later, I stood in front of the mirror, trying to sort things out in my mind. I said to myself. I got dressed and wandered into the living room. I flopped down onto the couch and stared at the wall. "Something wrong?" asked a voice. I jumped and turned around. Sailor Pluto stood behind me. "Darn it, Setsuna, how many times have I told you not to sneak up on me?!" "If you count this time period, none, but in the future, you will have told me 'not to sneak up on you' exactly 543 times." She gazed at me. "But I have a feeling that's not what you wanted to hear." "You PLANNED this," I muttered angrily. "I did," she said. "I should have told you. Serentiy knows and understands. You're stuck here until you can help the real Darien and Serena make up." With that, she was gone. Staring at my wall again, I sighed. *~!~**~!~**~!~**~!~* To be continued.. *~!~**~!~**~!~**~!~* So, what do you think of Dreamweaver? You know I love hearing from you!!
