Konnichiwa, Minna-san! I truly hope that you enjoy this chapter. I'll try to make it longer that the other ones. BTW, this chapter has a LOOOOOOONG Flashback, telling the history of Usagi & Mamoru's first meeting. I'm truly, deeply sorry for the delay, but I was in the middle of my university tests, and to make things worse, my computer crashed! By the end of this page, for general demmand, I will be adding a quick dictionary, and also a little about myself! This is mostly because since I consider each and everyone of you my friends, I want to get to know you well, and to do that, I first need to introduce myself, right? ^.^ I will not reveal all Motoki's plan right away. Actually, It will be showing itself. Thanks to everyone that send me an e-mail. Your kind words and wise advice is all the payment that I have ever wished for. Please, KEEP IT UP!!! ^.^ Disclaimer: I don't own Sailor Moon, and I'm not making any profit out of this. I'm just an obsessed fan of the series ( specially Mamo-chan ^.^), so please, don't sue me. Since I'm only seventeen, and in my first year of University, I don't think that you can win anything, anyway. This story is rated PG-13 "In love, everything is true, everything is false; it is the one subject in which one cannot express an absurdity." ~ Nicholas Chamfort (French writer) @->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->--- "Symtoms of Love" Part 3 By Yukino Tenshi Mamoru gulped. Lately , whenever he get close to Usagi, he always became nervous. He usually tried to plan mentally around a thousand times what he would tell her, what attitude he would assume, but everything that sounded so good in his mind, as soon as it came out of his mouth sounded so lame-brained, (or at least to him) that he just wanted to smack his head several times against the nearest wall. Thankfully Usagi was always capable to calm him down, making him truly relaxed around five minutes later. That is, except when she gave him her killer smile, or just make a cute face. Then, he became seized with a powerful need to kiss her, hold her, or just hug her, and to never, ever let go. Just the memory of one of those smiles were more than enough to make him glassy eyed, and to start his daydreaming again. 'Come on, Mamoru, pull yourself together!' He commanded himself silently. 'Do you want to win her heart?' 'Yes, of course I do.' 'Then go to talk to her and start Motoki's idea already!' 'Are you sure that this idea, specially because it's coming from Motoki, is actually going to work?' 'Hey! Motoki is our friend! His idea is actually really good! Besides is the only hope that we have right now.' ' You're right.' 'Of course I'm right!' 'By the way, I'm talking with myself again?' 'Yep.' 'Oh, crap.' Another that he was starting to get used to was to argue with himself, almost all the time about Usagi. 'You're insane.' 'No. I'm in love.' At that, Mamoru smiled. Although sometimes to talk with himself could be really annoying, He wouldn't change this for the world. Because this were the classical sypmtoms of one of the most old illness in the world, the one that most people always wanted, even if sometimes it was sheer anguish. This, as a poet once put it were the 'symtoms of love'. One of the best things that have ever happened to him. The best thing, without any doubt, was meeting her. Although more than eleven years had passed since that day, he still remembered it as it was just yesterday. That was the day his loneliness ended. *Flashback* August third. His birthday. And he was going to be alone. The thought keep repeating in the mind of a depressed six years old Mamoru. His parents, the owners of the powerful Chiba Company, were, as usual, in a business travel. Oh, shure, they had told him that they weren't going to miss his birthday, that it was only a short trip of two weeks long to Germany. That was almost one month and a half ago. But Mamoru still had believed in them. He was shure that this time they were going to make it, just as they promised. Today, he was awake and alive by seven o'clock, and ran to his parents bedrooms, fully expecting to see them already there. He truly believed that they arrived last night, and they didn't wake him up, just to give him a big surprise in the morning. And empty bedroom greeted him. Then, the butler came the same message from his parents. That something suddenly came up, and they couldn't make it in time. They also wished him a happy birthday, and that if he wanted to, he could make a birthday party and invite all of his friends. At that, Mamoru roughly wiped away the tears that were treatening to fall from his eyes. He didn't have any friends. At the pre-school that he went, no one wanted to talk or play with him, and since it was forbiden to him to get outside, he didn't have any friends in the neighbourhood, either. As tears treatened to fall, once again from his eyes, suddenly a mischievous idea settled on his mind. His parents had offered him a birthday party, right? So, he needed to invite someone to it. And since he didn't have any, he just had to make them. In the Juuban Park. An exciting (and extrictly forbidden for his parents) place. Getting out of his house wasn't so difficult. Although it was full of maids and other unknown people all the time, most of them didn't even cared about him. And getting out without alerting the security guards was easy for someone that had watched them all his life. Once he reached the park, what greeted him was like a punch in the face for him. Happy Little boys and girls with their families, enjoying the warm summer day, and their parents, actually spending some time with them, without even needing a special occasion to doing so. And his own parents were unable to spend some time with him in his own birthday! He felt so lonely. He only wished that something, SOMEONE, could fill the void that was forming in his heart. His wish presented itself in the form of a little blond angel. Tsukino Usagi. Usagi-chan. Usako. She appeared apparently out of nowhere, that is, at least, for Mamoru. Actually, she had noticed him some while ago, sitting lonely, with a sad face near the lake. That was something impossible to ignore for her, and so, after waiting for him to notice her for a couple of minutes, she finally asked: -"Daijoubu?" Startled by the voice so near to him, he looked up, and watched for the first time the girl that will represent his everything in the years to come. First, he thought it was a vision. Those two blue eyes, looking so concerned about him. As if she truly cared for him. But that was impossible. Not even his parents cared, so why would she, or anyone else, for that matter? Tsukino Usagi did. Deeply. Without even knowing why, she felt a strange pull towards this boy, something that said that he needed her, that without her he was lonely. And being Tsukino Usagi, she just couldn't ignore that feeling, although she still didn't quite understand those feelings. After a few seconds of patient waiting, she asked him again, this time with a little of concern marring the edge of her voice. Coming back to reality, he quickly stuttered a daijoubu in response, almost afraid that she might disappear after that. Instead, she sat next to him and said, in a friendly voice: -"Hi! I'm Usagi. What's your name?" Thanking the gods for this miracle, he answered, this time a little calmer. It almost seemed that she was somehow banishing all the sadness and loneliness in him. -"I'm Mamoru." Usagi giggled, happy to see how the sadness was desapearing from his blue eyes, and asked: -"Do you want to play with me and my friends, Mamoru-kun?" He felt on the top of the world at that moment. Only minutes ago, he was lonely, and wishing to find someone who could make that feeling disappear. And with a few words, this little girl, named Usagi had managed that. Nodding with his head eagerly, he said: -"Hai Usagi-chan!" With another giggle, Usagi standed up, and taking hold of his hand, he started to pull him up, saying, -"Then let's go!" With a smile, he started to run after her. This was the best birthday ever! *End of Flashback* Mamoru smiled. Since then she was always there for him. Determination set over his being. She was his everything. And he had to tell her, before it was to late to do it so. He had keeped his secret long enough. Three years, to be exact, when after coming back from a trip from Europe with his parents, that he had discovered his true feelings towards her. She was fourteen at the time, passing for that akward time when when you don't seem to have control over your body. Nevertheless, it was in that moment, when she said hello and hugged him, after a month of separation, that he realised that an angel was standing in front of him, shinning with an incredible beauty, both inside and out, that will probably only increase with the pass of the years. He had been proved right. And his feelings haven't changed since that day. If anything, they had only grown stronger and stronger each passing day. And if he keep waiting, she could find someone else, and ha doubted that he would be able to forgive himself. The only choice left for him was to start Motoki's operation, MBMCHF ( Making Baka Mamoru Confess His Feelings, as Motoki himself called the plan, obtaining for that a punch on the stomach from Mamoru) and to pray for the success of it. Tacking a deep breath, he took the first step towards his destiny. @->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->---@->--- Ohhh!
