BACKGROUND |

| Born in the hills of France on Earth, Ian's parents were farmers from the former North American Continent. Life was simple and uncomplicated until Ian's wandering mind led him to the subjects of math and engineering. Seeing his wanderlust and aptitude for those subjects his parents sent him the University of Paris. After only two years his thoughts spread spaceward and he joined the Starfleet Enlisted Corps. His first assignment was at the prestigious Vulcan Science Academy where he helped to develop the internal cooling system that made the use of Tri-linium possible. This and a multitude of other great advances helped to promote him to the Non-commissioned Officer's Corps. Declining many opportunities to become a commissioned officer, Ian's next tour was served at the Starfleet Academy, San Francisco, Earth. After a short tour serving directly under the Commandant, he became the Commandant of the Enlisted Corps Training and Doctrine Command, where he has served until now, finally recieving a post to a spaceborn vessel. As far as his personal life goes, Ian is very interested and involved with technology. He still takes time to converse with his former collegues at the Vulcan Science Academy, to help add his knowledge to their studies. Ian is definately not considered a recluse, but if you see him in bar, you'd most likely find him doing math problems on a napkin. Easy going, but dedicated and serious about his work, no one ever has a problem with getting him to do his fair share. Most importantly to him, he considers the care of the sailors and marines under his command his utmost priority. His shifts usually begin two or three hours before everyone elses and end a few hours after. Romantically he has been involved more than a few times, but he is waiting to find the right woman who can bear his heavy workload and dedication to others. He is however actively looking and when not writing on napkins, he is entertaining a lady in a holodeck or the closest restaurant or lounge.
