The Tomar Chronicle-Herald

Volume I, Number 4 - October , 2002

Welcome back to the latest issue of the Chronicle-Herald.  Thanks for your continued support of the SIMM.

I'd like to say thanks for the great month, we had a total of 36 IC posts, which is a high for us right now. That averages out to 4 per a person, though that wasn't the case. I'd like to see it increase though, and I will do my best to increase my total as well. If everyone could create their own personal goal to increase by, that would be great, and just do the best that you can. I am glad to see everyone returning, and I'd like to welcome our new players as well.

Also, we have 2 more players as of this writing whose applications are being reviewed by the Admins, and who should be added on to the ship very soon.

We are still working to update the site, and rest assured that we will be getting things up ASAP, so if you don't see your name on the list, don't panic yet :)

Some of the things we have planned over the next few months and into the Tomar's third year of existance include an update to the Website, update to the application form, the Allowable Species, bio updates, submission of the site to various Top lists and even for awards, to help bring in new players, and update of the Ship's Manual, the Manifest and bio pages, and other web details. Also, we're going to try and smooth out other things as we catch them. I hope that be the end of year three, the Tomar will have at least 15 players and a new look, along with a couple of Site awards, and a few Character and player awards as well.

This is going to be a rebuilding time for the ship, but that doesn't mean that the SIMM will stop, on the contrary, we will continue to have new story lines as the Tomar goes into her third season.

We didn't make our goal of  15 players by August 23rd, but I am happy that we have 9 players and soon we'll have 11, we're well on our way towards 15, and then 20 after that. and onward and upward.

So, thank you to those who have stuck by us over these past 2 years, and welcome aboard to those who are just joining us.

For the month of October, I would like to see EVRYONE post 4 times! Please contact any of the Admin staff if you have any questions.

Ship's Current Disposition:

The Tomar crew is currently at Union Colony, which is apart of TF38. Commodore Rowe has graciously allowed us to stay here for the time being while we sort out our reactions to the Tomar-C being destroyed and our reactions to the Tomar-D. Episode 7: The Passing of an Era, is about our reactions to these changes. Its a character-building episode.

Some changes are in store for the Tomar and her crew, and this is the episode for it. Promotions and changes. Go with it and build your character's personalities and character develop.

Teaser for Episode 7: The Passing of an Era:

The Tomar C is destroyed, and the crew rescued and recuperating at Union Colony, home of TF38. While there, Rear Admiral Shepherd finds out that he is getting a new command, a new Tomar, NCC-2814-D, an Intimidator-class Dreadnaught.

Can he handle the new Tomar? Is he fully healed, emotionally, from his ordeal with the Maldean nanites, or is there more going on than meets the eye? And what about the rest of the crew, how will they react, and how will the new crewmembers fit in, will their be conflicts or will it go smoothly?

Next Cycle:

The next Posting Cycle is Cycle 28, which will run the ENTIRE month of October. EVRYONE should post a MINIMUM of 4 times over the next month. Players who do not post will be subject to the rules and penalties of the Manual.   Please contact any of the Admin staff if you have any questions. There are currently NO LOAs right now, so everyone is considered active. Everyone should be at Union Colony now.

All department heads should be submitting their monthly Department Head reports. Department Heads who continue to fail to submit will be reprimanded, lose points, and eventually removed from their positions.

ALL Players need to post the minimum number of posts per cycle. In the case of Cycle 28 (October 2002), you need to post 4 times during the entire mountain. That gives you 31 days to write and email 4 posts to the list. If you post, but don't post the min, you will be put on a Warning status, and moved up and down as appropriate. Please look at the Manual if you have any questions, or email the Admins.

Manual: https://members.tripod.com/usstomar/htmlfiles/simminfo/manual/policies.htm

Try to get into the habit of making your mins or contacting the Admins if you can't during any cycle.

LOA Policy:

Don't be afraid to ask for an LOA if you really need one, or if you know you're going to be going away. I'm not going to bite your head off, in fact, most of the time, I'm going to ok it (9 out of 10). It saves me the headaches of wondering where you are, and also helps so that you don't lose points, or get removed during surprise AUDITS.

You need to get in contact with me if you can't post as soon as you are able to post again, or even better, before, use somebody elses email if need be, put please, get in touch with me or one of the other AGMs and let us know. If I don't hear from you, I'm going to consider you MIA, and you'll be removed from the SIMM after so many cycles. If you want to leave the simm, please drop me a note and let me know, otherwise, if I remove players from the SIMM, I have to notify BFJAG, which can cause repercussions on you if you run other characters in BF. Please, be considerate, Thanks.

Federation Times:

Please keep reading the Federation Times (http://www.bravofleet.com/bravofleet/fleet_news.htm) to keep up on what else is going on in BF and Starfleet. Stories here may have some impact on what happens in our SIMM.

Bravo Fleet News:

August 31, 2002 - from Rear Admiral Patrick Smith II: New Nemesis picture released, go to: http://ffmedia.ign.com/startrek/image/st-nemesis-valdore-large.jpg

May 28, 2002 - from Fleet Admiral Mike Bremer, CO of Bravo Fleet: I want to thank everyone that's taking the time to vote for BF, pushing us to the top of many lists and getting BF many new members. In the last 24 hours we have received no less then 22 apps, that's up 110% from an average day. BF's record is 47 apps in a day, I'd love to break that! So, I'm asking you all to keep voting. Even if you just have a few minutes, vote for at least the top lists marked 'Priority One' TSLs. http://www.bravofleet.com/bravofleet/voteforbf.htm

And, by the way, Bravo Fleet's been named in "Who's Who on the Web" 5th anniversery edition. The BFHQ joins sites like CrouchingTiger.com, CocaCola.com, DreamWorks.com, u2.com!! I think that's just awsome! From what they told me when the email notification that came in, BF's the ONLY Star Trek RPG listed! :)

Keep up the great work and showing your pride in Bravo Fleet!!
