Here is the schedule for the StarCraft: Brood War Tournament

The Starcraft: Brood War Tournament ("Brood War Tournament") is an ongoing competition that allows players from around the globe to vie for the title of World Champion. Sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment ฎ , a division of Davidson & Associates, Inc. (hereafter, "Blizzard Entertainment"), this tournament is designed to encourage spirited play in an atmosphere of honorable competition. This tournament is subject to the laws of the United States of America.

Schedule

The Starcraft: Brood War Tournament is divided into three (3) rounds:

Round I: Regular Seasons SEASON 01: January 8 -- March 31, 1999 SEASON 02: April 1 -- June 30, 1999

Round II: Regular Season Finals

SEASON 01 FINALS: April 1 – April 15, 1999 SEASON 02 FINALS: July 1 – July 15, 1999

Round III: World Championships

1999 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: August 2 – August 4, 1999

Blizzard Entertainment reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to change or modify the dates of any of the Regular Seasons, Regular Season Finals or the World Championships.

Schedule Overview Each Brood War Tournament is comprised of two (2) or more Regular Seasons, two (2) or more Regular Season Finals and a World Championship per calendar year. Each of the Regular Seasons will run for approximately three (3) months. During each Regular Season, players will compete to determine the top sixteen (16) finishers from a pool of all the then current season's Brood War Ladder players. A single elimination, round robin, Regular Season Finals competition will be held amongst the top sixteen (16) finishers of each regular season to determine the Regular Season Final champion. The top eight (8) players from the Season 01 and 02 Regular Season Finals competition will automatically qualify for and advance to the upcoming 1999 World Championship competition.

All taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners.

Substitution

No substitution of prizes shall be allowed except by the sponsor due to prize availability.

Eligibility

The Brood War Tournament is open to all players of Starcraft: Brood War who earn ten (10) wins in open Starcraft: Brood War play over Battle.net™. Employees of Blizzard Entertainment, Davidson & Associates, Inc. and/or its parent, their family members, agents, subsidiaries, distributors, advertising agencies and resellers are not eligible to enter. The winners of all major prizes may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and release which must be returned to Blizzard Entertainment within fifteen (15) calendar days of notification. In the event that a finalist who wins a major prize is a minor, the prize will be awarded to a parent or legal guardian who will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release within fifteen (15) calendar days of date of notification. All Brood War Tournament participants must agree to the Brood War Rules of Play, Brood War Tournament Terms of Service as well as the Battle.net Terms of Service. By participating in this game, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules.

Blizzard Entertainment is not responsible for illegible, lost, late, misdirected, damaged or incomplete electronic or regular mail sent. The Brood War Tournament is void where prohibited, licensed, restricted or taxed. All materials submitted shall become the property of Blizzard Entertainment and/or the sponsor and none will be returned. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use winner's name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, subject to parental approval, unless prohibited by law.

Players are responsible for all costs, or charges involved in accessing Battle.net and warrant that the cost of accessing Battle.net, if any, is part of a larger agreement with an Internet Service Provider or some other means, and that the cost of this access is not an incremental cost. Players' monitors, computers, software and Internet access must be calibrated to industry standards. Blizzard Entertainment is not responsible for those who cannot access the site, regardless of technical, hardware, software, network problem, delay, failure or malfunction or for any reason. Here are some useful Battle.Net Chat Commands you Might use

The following commands can be used in any chat channel. For Starcraft players, they can also be used during game setup or while a game is in progress.

/whois [user] - (E.G. /whois AdamM) - Looks up some basic information on a user, including their account number and their current location. This is an excellent way to find your friends online. You can also search for an account number by typing /whois #[number] (E.G. /whois #1). Aliases for this command: /who /whereis

/whisper [user] - (E.G. /whisper PatN or /whisper #6) - Sends a private message to a user online regardless of the channel they are in. This is an excellent way to let a friend know you are online. Aliases for this command: /w /msg

/squelch [user] - (E.G. /squelch Andrewe or /squelch #2) - Ignores any future messages from that user effectively muting that user to you. Aliases for this command: /ignore

/unsquelch [user] - (E.G. /unsquelch Andrewe or /unsquelch #2) - Allows a previously squelched user to talk to you normally. Aliases for this command: /unignore

/away [text] - (E.G. /away eating dinner) - Displays a messages that you are away from your keyboard whenever someone whispers to you or does a /whois command on you.

/who [channel] - (E.G. /who Town Square) - Displays a list of all users in the given channel.

/users - Displays the number of users currently on Battle.net.

/time - Displays the current Battle.net time.

The following commands can only be used while chatting:

/channel [channel name] - (E.G. /channel bar) – Switches to a channel without having to use the channel join screen.

/me [text] - (E.G. /me is rolling on the floor laughing!) - Displays emotion text, as in "PatN is rolling on the floor laughing!" This command currently works only in Starcraft.

The following commands can only be used by channel operators (the person with the gavel):

/designate [user] - (E.G. /designate Alenl or /designate #42) - Selects [user] as the next channel operator when you step down, either by resigning or by leaving the channel.

/resign - Step down as channel operator and become a normal user again.

/kick [user] - (E.G. /kick TwainM or /kick #23) - Kicks a user out of the channel. This is best used as a warning since a kicked user can return at their leisure.

/ban [user] - (E.G. /ban RobertB or /ban #13) - Kicks a user out of the channel and prevents them from returning until the current operator steps down or leaves the channel. This is the most powerful command at an operator's disposal, use it wisely.

/unban [users] - (E.G. /unban RobertB or /unban #13) - Allows a banned user to return to the channel.
