James Brown

a labourer aged 20, was tried at Hertford in 1786 for stealing, sentenced to 7 years' transportation, and sent to the hulks. He sailed on the Alexander. By 1806 he was farming on 100 acres at Caddi Creek at the Hawkesbury, with six acres in wheat and barley, an orchard and kitchen garden, and 89 acres in pasture. He was still living there in 1822.
