A Word about the Site

The following is a selection of photographs I have taken during my ten years' residence in the Sultanate of Oman. I have included both pictures of people and places in this most remarkable country. Scenically, it is blessed with wonderful, primordial mountains that are a geologist's dream laboratory. It has hundreds of kilometers of superb beaches that are mostly deserted. And, if you are a diver, it boasts some of the most spectacular undersea life on the planet, rating right up there with the Red Sea, the Caribbean, and the Great Barrier Reef.

But there is more than physical beauty; there is charm and not a little whimsy in Oman as well. I only hope that you will come away with more of a sense of what is here. And now that entry requirements have been eased, if you have a chance, I hope you will pay Oman a visit in the near future.

Camel Crossing near Nakhl

On the highways and byways of the Sultanate, there are many surprises, not the least of which is the odd camel crossing. As newcomer, you never know what to expect when you turn the next corner.
