BUS DROP OFF &
OTHER IMPORTANT LOGISTICAL INFO
For the April 20 National March Against War & Racism
at the White House
GATHER 11 AM at the ELLIPSE (south side of the White
House)
*** BUS DROP OFF INFORMATION ***
Bus drop off will be on Constitution Ave. at 16th St.
(this is the middle of the south side of the Ellipse,
between 15th and 17th Streets). Walk north from
Constitution Ave. into the Ellipse. Most people will
be arriving from either 95 N or 95 S, and will be
traveling west on Constitution, so they will be able
to drop off on the north side of Constitution, closest
to the Ellipse.
*** BUS PARKING INFORMATION ***
- Bus parking: There is a lot that is used for bus
parking just over the Anacostia ridge. Drive south
on South Capitol, go over the Anacostia Bridge, and
take the first right.
- Vans and cars can drop off on Constitution Ave., or
simply find parking in the area.
*THE MARCH*
In the early afternoon of April 20, we will MARCH from
the White House, east on Pennsylvania Ave. directly in
front of the White House, and proceeding on
Pennsylvania Ave. to the Justice Department. At the
Justice Department--directly across the street from
the J. Edgar Hoover FBI building--we will rally in
defense of civil rights and civil liberties and to
demand the repeal of Ashcroft's USA Patriot Act. We
are planning with other anti-war coalitions to have
various marches converge east of the White House on
Pennsylvania Ave. Following the march, we will hold a
concluding unity rally that will be organized and
co-chaired by A.N.S.W.E.R. coalition, the A20 Stop the
War mobilization and possibly others.
PERMITS
The A.N.S.W.E.R. coalition has met and had discussions
with the National Parks Service, the Metropolitan
Police Department and the Capitol Police. We are
pleased to announce that we have secured permits for
the rally and march.
*** BUS PICK-UP INFORMATION ***
We will send out informaiton about bus pick-up in the
next few days.
