HOW TO GET DIRECTIONS TO THE DEMONSTRATION:
Go to http://www.mapquest.com, and get driving
directions from your starting location to 16th St.
and Constitution Ave. NW in Washington DC. This is
the south side of the Ellise, the park to the south
side of the White House where we are gathering.
WHERE PEOPLE CAN BE DROPPED OFF:
Buses, vans and cars can drop everyone off at 16th St.
and Constitution Ave. NW (between 15th and 17th St.).
When you pull up youll see the stage and banners!
PARKING INFORMATION:
- BUSES: There is a lot that is used for bus parking
just over the Anacostia Bridge. Drive south on South
Capitol, go over the Anacostia Bridge, and take the
first right. (This lot was used by buses for the
September 29, 2001, demonstration with no problems.)
- VANS & CARS: There are many parking lots in this
area of Washington DC. Just drive noth from the
Ellipse and you should easily find a place for $15-20
for the day.
THE PLAN FOR THE DAY:
- Buses, vans and car caravans coming from over 100
organizing centers around the country will be arriving
in the morning. They are coming from Maine, from
Florida, from Texas, from Minnesota and from
everywhere in between. Buses should come to the
Ellipse as soon as they arrive in Washington DC.
- The White House rally (taking place on the Ellipse,
the south side of the White House, at Constitution
Ave. between 15th and 17th St.) will begin at 11 am.
The wide array of speakers can be seen in the list
above.
- After the rally at the White House, we will MARCH
east on Pennsylvania Ave. directly in front of the
White House, and across Pennsylvania Ave. to the
Justice Department.
- At the Justice Department--directly across the
street from the J. Edgar Hoover FBI uilding--we will
rally in defense of civil rights and civil liberties
and to demand the repeal of Ashcroft's USA Patriot
Act.
- After the rally at the Justice Department, we will
march on to a concluding rally!
IS THE DEMONSTRATION PERMITTED?
Yes. The A.N.S.W.E.R. coalition has met and had
discussions with the National Parks Service, the
Metropolitan Police Department and the Capitol Police.
We are pleased to announce that we have secured
permits for the rally and march.

To make this event a success, hundreds of volunteers
are needed to help out in many areas! If you would
