Bread Stuffing/Dressing

4 cups dry bread cubes (3 slices)
1 onion; chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram (or oregano)
1 cup celery, chopped (3 stalks)
2 tablespoon parsley leaves or 2 teaspoon dry
1 cup hot water or turkey broth
3/4 teaspoon ground sage
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or 1/4 teaspoon fresh
1/8 teaspoon basil; optional

Combine all ingredients in a bowl, toss to mix well. Stuff into a 10-pound turkey or 4 cornish hens.

4-6 servings.
