2001 National Scout Jamboree

Although July 23, 2001 seem a long way off, it will be here before you know it.  July 23-August 1, 2001 is the date for the 2001 National Scout Jamboree.  It will be held at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia.
The council will be sending one Troop or 32 boys and 4 adults to this first jamboree of the Century.

Requirements to attend are MUST be 12 years old and First Class Scout by July 1, 2001.  Must not have turned 18 before September 1, 2001.

Summer Camp 2000

The Will Rogers Council wants your troop at camp this summer. Plans are under the way for another SUPER summer camp for your scouts.  The staff is being hired and will start meeting soon to begin the preparation for the encampment.  If your troop has not signed up, it is not too late.  Contact your District Executive or the Scout Service Center to sign up.

You will not want to miss summer camp at WRSR.

Philmont 2000

At this time there is only one opening for a scout for the 2000 trek.  If you are wanting to go to a once in a lifetime experience, call Fred Spellman at 580  762-5344 or the Scout Service Center

That is correct.  The council is planning a Philmont Trek in 2000.   Our contingent will arrive at the Philmont Ranch July 12, 2000.  We currently have room for 36 scouts and Scouters with crews of 9 and 3 leaders apiece.  Fred Spellman is the contingent leader and will go with one of the crews. If you have not been to Philmont, this is the greatest of all youth camps in the world.  You will be on the trail for 11 days and 10 nights and travel to see some of the most beautiful areas of our country.  Because of the National requirements, ALL SCOUTS MUST BE 14 BY JANUARY 1, 2000.  This is a requirement that cannot be waived.  Get your money in for a great summer adventure of your life.  Call the Scout Service Center for more details.   As of now, $50 is required to save a space in the contingent.  Total cost is estimated at $425
