Serving the Wiccan Children of MD/DC/VA

Kiddie Coven after a good run of almost four years has ceased its functions. Many groups and stores have begun children programming events that now serve the younger populace.

We began our effort at Yule and have come full circle at Yule, 2003.
I will always carry with me the joy of the children's faces as they sang, raised energy and laughed in the presence of their deities. I hope that the lessons they have learned with us will continue into their maturity.

Blessings, peace and joy,

Kiddie Coven is a community effort focusing on the children of Pagans/Wiccans in the Greater Washinton, DC Metro area. This is a club for Pagan parents and their children of all ages to serve as a means to education and familiarize your child with ritual, Sabbats, Esbats, the tools used, the etiquette and just the experience of being in Sacred Space with others.

Our group began on December 16,celebrating Yule/Winter Solstice together, with 6 families to learn and share with their children. We have continued to see many families of all ages and sizes celebrate with us.

Our events run from 11am to 2pm at Chrionna's residense in Silver Spring, MD on a regularbasis.

The club's itineraryconsists of a craft that is associated with the Sabbat, a story about the Sabbat, and a Kiddie ritual. Field trips have been included since our weather has become more seasonal for outings.

The events will have these three items as their fixed itinerary.  We will meet, learn and celebrate togetherthe coming Sabbat, in months having none (ie. November, July, April) we will discuss a phase of the moon and celebrate an Esbat together.

    Our hope is to:

The group leader is Chrionna Paistin Ni Graham (Chrionna), who is currently a First Degree Wiccan, completing her Second Degree as a member of the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel.  She is the Group Director for the adult discussion group, Crescent Moon Coffee Klatch, but most importantly she is the mom of twin boyseager to learn and to assist if necessary. Chrionna is deeply committed to her Pagan community efforts for the benefit of its members and the Pagan faith in our country.

We also were the coordinators for the Family Corner at the 2002 DC Pagan Pride day.  Many kids (of the old and young persuasion) enjoyed the activities and crafts ideas we provided for the day.  Above is Chrionna smiling for the camera as she takes a rare rest during the day's events.

We represent our group at functions like these and also post announcements on MD Announce, DC Pagan, Pagan Kids Club and Witchvox.

Parents who wish to offer their home, ideas, craft materials, agenda, or anything else for this group will be gladly accepted.  Donations of any kind to help purchase materials and snacks will also be appreciated.
