Change #1- Higher Onbase
To adjust to the umpires new strike zones, MLB Showdown has increased their Onbase of players about an average of 2 onbase. This makes it very difficult to use 2000 or 2001 cards in your lineup. An example would be the following.
Look at the 2001 card or Richard Hidalgo. His Onbase is 9. His point total is 500. Now look at Carlos Beltran 2002 BS. He is 2 onbases higher, has better speed, and the same defense for 30 points less. That's the difference between Showdown 00/01 and 02.Now take away 2 onbase from Beltran. You would see that if Beltran was an 00/01 card the price range would be accurate.
