This picture is a work of Cezanne, another symbolistic artist. I could not find a name for this work, but it is very symbolistic. The old man symbolizes age and the passing of time. One main charachteristic of Symbolic art is the fact that it doesnt show an over-abundant amount of detail. This work for example is just an old man. We don't know who, its just an old man. This is symbolistic for age. Also, the old man is waiting patiently with his hands crossed. To my this can either signify the passing of time, or the wait for death. It seems very general, but in a way is specific. Its general because its just a random person, nobody specific, but in a way it is specific because of what he is doing.
