He’s a rich and apparently spoiled brat.

Emotional Characteristics: Shinobi is apparently arrogant, vain, self-absorbed, and spoiled. Underneath that façade he has virtually no self-esteem, and is emotionally scarred from years of abuse by his Father. He trusts almost no one, although he desperately wants to. He’s completely amoral.
Detailed History (optional): Shinobi Shaw is the unwanted son of wealthy industrialist Sebastian Shaw, a mutant himself. His parent’s marriage was unhappy almost from the beginning, and it got worse when he was born. He was, to his father’s eyes, too small and weak to be a worthy heir to Sebastian’s financial empire. Shinobi simply could not win approval from Sebastian no matter what he did. Sebastian either ignored Shinobi, or verbally & emotionally abused him. His mother, on the other hand, adored her son. She protected him as much as possible and spoiled him rotten. Shinobi’s mother died when he was nine years old, and Shinobi suspects his father had a hand in the alleged car crash, since Sebastian married Lourdes Chantel with unseemly hast afterwards. After his mother’s death, Sebastian’s treatment of Shinobi grew worse, and now included the occasional beating.

Shinobi has grown up in the shadow of the Hellfire Club, an organization that is mostly a harmless club for the wealthy elite to over-indulge themselves and socialize, however the inner-circle of the Hellfire Club it made up of wealthy mutants who have decided that out right attempts to dominate the world are futile. They instead intend to dominate it by corporate takeovers and backing political pawns.
When he was old enough Sebastian shipped Shinobi off to the Massachusetts Academy, where he excelled academically but still won no approval from his father. The headmistress of the Academy, Emma Frost, was an ally and business partner his father, however she had her own axe to grind with Sebastian and took some of her frustrations out on Shinobi; Emma is a powerful telepath, she messed with Shinobi's mind and memories, and mentally raped him -- she let him know exactly what it felt like to be f***ed by his father. This has resulted in Shinobi being distrustful of telepaths, and his developing a very loud mental voice to combat any intrusions in his mind. While at the Academy, he developed the habit of buying whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted, under the justification that no one would care enough about him to give it to him; Sebastian decided it was easier to foot the bills than have to deal with his son. Since no mutant power had manifested at puberty, his father wrote Shinobi off completely (ignoring the fact that his own powers hadn’t manifested until he was eighteen). However when Shinobi turned sixteen his mutant powers did kick in, and Shinobi bolted from the Academy, determined not be drawn into the Hellions, an offshoot of the Hellfire Club based there.
