Limit break in Final Fantasy IX will be called Trance Mode, this is kinda different from the limit break in Final Fantasy VIII, in Final Fantasy VIII, you will be able to use the limit break when your characters' HP reach certain amount of level (dying). While in Final Fantasy IX, you can use the Trance Mode when your character takes in a certain amount of damage, it will enter a trance and allowing your character to use the special abilities!
