Scholarships to be Awarded at Annual Spring Banquet

Dateline Phoenix  Over 40 Yees came to the Annual Roast Beef General Dinner Meeting of the Phoenix Yee Fung Toy Association on January 13th, 2001 during which President Willie Yee gave a report on the proceedings of the U.S. and World Yee Conventions that he had attended.

Among the many issues that were decided upon was the setting of the date of the Annual Spring Banquet for Saturday, March 3rd, 2001 at the China Doll Restaurant.  The U.S. Moo Kai and Hong Kong Five Tong Scholarship awards will be presented at the Banquet.  Those meeting the following qualifications will be eligible for the award upon submission of their application.

1. All children, nephews and nieces of male Yees and all first generation offspring of married female Yees graduating from High School this summer will receive an award regardless of school grade.  The maximum award will be $500.

2. All children bearing the Yee family name and graduating from elementary school will receive a scholarship grant.  This grant is limited to Yees only.

3. All Yee children, nephews and nieces attending Chinese School and able to furnish proof of attendance will be eligible to apply for tuition grants covering the entire school year.
