I remember Mike Dugger (past state Libertarian Party Chair and a USPS = Mail Carrier) telling us about a USPS campaign in response to UPS' = statements about how the USPS could not compete in a free-market.
The USPS had an internal campaign called "Beating them Everyday in Every = Way" (Motivational crap for the union workers :) At the same time I = think it was Chandler that was the prime target for a new Postal = Station. Funny thing is that they fought like hell not to have it put = into their city,... and Dugger (being Libertarian and all) knew why they = wouldn't want this "clean" industry in their city.
Dugger made his opinion known what he thought of the "Eeryday in Every = Way" campaign,... "There is no sense in trying to compare us to UPS = since the USPS doesn't pay any property tax, it is exempt. And this is = also why Chandler didn't want to give up otherwise productive land that = would otherwise be on the tax rolls. The campaign went away soon after = that.
