Dear Peter:
Yes, we have a vendor who has been providing registrations at $1.25 each. No, I will not forward any contact information. At this point, the Committee has not yet decided what to do about the registration drive. One of the options on the agenda is a DE-registration drive. Whatever we decide, you and your organization will have no part in the matter.
The reasons are too numerous to mention here, but suffice it to say, they all have to do with your behavior over the past six years, commencing with your ham-handed attempt to take over the party at the 1995 convention and concluding with your latest fundraising letter, in which you yet again make a ham-handed attempt to blame the ALP for the lawsuit. Quite a few of our most dedicated and active people have now left the party, and several have stated that they will not even remain registered Libertarian, as it benefits your organization, and in effect, condones your actions.
When you embarked on this course six years ago, you made a deliberate decision to divide the Libertarian Party and destroy the other half. It was a malicious and deceitful undertaking and thoroughly unnecessary. It long ago passed the point of diminishing returns. Nevertheless, your mission is now accomplished.
You did it all without regard to any possible consequences. In failing to get Harry Browne on the ballot last year, you realized a big one. Now, the possibility of missing the ballot in Maricopa County and the State next year loom large, again because of your malicious endeavor. In the face of these failings, it remains to be seen how much longer you can persevere, even with your fine victory now secure.
Does it really surprise you that you that the 'other side' may not help you? If you really want uphold the fiction that this was an honest endeavor, what magnanimous gesture will you make to the disaffected to reunify the party? Correct me if I'm wrong, but so far all I've seen from you is gloating. Your organization has little, if any real presence in Maricopa County now. I suppose that suits your purposes quite well.
You are little else than a talented scoundrel, Peter. You long ago ceased to be an asset to the movement, and I am much more concerned with the movement than the organization, especially now that you are in charge.
Tim
