ADDS INFORMATION TO CLARIFY MAN ARRESTED HAD NO CONNECTION WITH TERRORIST ATTACKS IN PICTURE RISM105 TRANSMITTED WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 12, 2001--Providence police lead Sher Singh in handcuffs away from the train station after an Amtrak train was stopped in Providence, R.I., Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001. Singh, a member of the Sikh religion, was arrested Wednesday for carrying a knife aboard an Amtrak train from Boston to Washington, D.C. Police determined Singh had no apparent connection to Tuesday's East Coast attacks, but charged him with a misdemeanor weapons violation and released him Wednesday night on his own recognizance. Singh said he carries the blunt, 3-inch long knife, known as a kirpan, as a religious symbol of strength. Police found the knife after stopping the train to question Singh and three others. Of the four men questioned, two were wearing turbans, but the Providence police chief said he did not know if their clothing led to their suspicions. (AP Photo/Stew Milne)
