Hi to all subscribers of "The Use of Force Update,"
Sorry for the confusion and the multiple e-mails about the "Use of Force Update." We're working on getting the mechanics this newsletter, i.e., the e-mail process, done right. I guess the problem is with compatibility with e-mail deciphering programs with "mime" capabilities on certain e-mail services. Some people had received "The Use of Force Update" in perfect format, and some have received it in anything but perfect format. I have someone working on this now, so please bear with me if you can. I promise you that we will do our best to get this fixed ASAP. We will resend the September issue of "The Use of Force Update" to our entire mailing list again in the next week or two. Your patience and understanding is very much appreciated. Once we get these initial bugs worked out, it should not be aproblem with future issues. If you, or anyone that you know, can provide any insights into how to make the mechanics of the newsletter work, please call Ed Nowicki at 262.279.5735 anytime. I have the telephone programmed into my home when I'm not in the office. What is really frustrating, is that some people received the newsletter in perfect form, and some people had chunks of it missing. I know, because of the contributions of the columnists and the article writers, that we have great cotent and we want to share that content. Please, do what you can to tell other law enforcement professionals about "The Use of Force Update." Tell them that we offer this for FREE and that they need to request this via e-mail and to include their rank or title and their agency affiliation with their request. We want to be as careful as we can about not sharing this with people that may want to harm the law enforcement profession. Keep in mind that, in the big picture, this problem the newsletter is rather trivial when compared to what went on in New York, Washington and Western Pennsylvania. Still, we know that life must go on and that we cannot be brought to our knees by terrorists. Maybe the information that we share can save additona lives. I'd like to think so, and I'm sure that you do too. In the mean time, Stay Alert, Informed and Alive!
Sincerely,
Ed Nowicki, Editor "The Use of Force Update"
