dear susan sackett:
in the tuesday july 31, 2001 issue of the arizona republic in an article titled "Atheists again challenge 2 state monuments" that was on page B1 and B2 the arizona republic said that "The Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix does not take a stance on such issues". And that said that you as president of HSGP told them this statement.
Whats going on were you misquoted. or did the reporter just lie? As far as i know all the atheist groups in arizona have always been strong supporters of both the United States Constition and the Arizona State Constition both which firmly say that CHRUCH and STATE shall be seperate and that the government will spend no money supporting religion.
or have things suddenly changed and HSGP doenst mind if the state of arizona breaks the constition and spends money supporting religions favored by government officials?
while im not against private citizens building monuments to their gods on private property im definatly against the state of arizona spending taxpayor money and erectiong monuments to gods the elected officials favor on public property.
