Game Notes

Broncos bring down the Raiders 33-24.

Former Raider Joe Nedney nails 4 FGs, while rookie Mike Anderson bruises the Oakland defense for 187 yards on 32 carries. Meanwhile, Tim Brown catches 7 passes for 92 yards and 2 TDs, surpassing Fred Biletnikoff for the Raiders' team record in career TD receptions.

Denver jumps out to a quick 17-0 lead, on the strength of Brian Griese's 10-yard TD pass to Ed McCaffrey and Trevor Pryce's 28-yard fumble return for a TD. However, Oakland rallies to tie it 24-24 before halftime as Randy Jordan scores on a blocked punt for the tying score that caps a 17-0 Raider run before the break.

Nedney, cut after Oakland drafted Sebastian Janikowski, nails 3 FGs in the 2nd half to provide the winning difference.
