Mika Hakkinen suffers a sickening engine failure on the final lap, gifting a victory to Ferrari's Michael Schumacher.

Hakkinen dominates after the last round of pit stops, but a hydraulic leak on the final lap causes his Mclaren to retire while holding a commanding lead over a fading Schumacher. Williams' Juan Pablo Montoya and BAR's Jacques Villeneuve round out an unlikely podium.
