Schumacher's Ferrari dominates a field that becomes heavily depleted due to a 1st lap crash. Schumacher's Ferrari teammates Rubens Barrichello starts from the pole, but Ralf Schumacher gets a better start and the two begin a chain reaction collision that also collects 6 more cars.

With the depleted field and help of another timely crash, Schumacher is able to cruise to victory ahead of Williams' Juan Pablo Montoya and Mclaren's Kimi Raikkonen.
