Both teams engage in a nasty brawl that stretches across the field late in the 4th quarter.

The game was less contested. After South Carolina fumbles on the opening kickoff, Reggie Merriweather scores on 3-yard run 2 plays later. It's the first of 3 TDs for Merriweather, who runs for 126 yards. Merriweather's 3rd TD gives Clemson a 20-7 lead in the 3rd quarter and Jad Dean adds 3 FGs.

The Tigers' defense holds the Gamecocks to just 197 yards.
