Dennis Kennedy nudges his way into the end zone for the winning score as Akron passes on a potential tying FG with :03 left, capping a wild 4th quarter of lead changes. N.C. State had retaken the lead on Marcus Stone's 11-yard TD pass to Jamelle Eugene w/ 1:07 remaining in the game. But Akron's Luke Getsy completes a pair of passes for 42 yards and scrambles twice for 24 yards setting up Kennedy's winning TD run.

The Zips lead 7-3 thru 3 quarters, but Stone hits Darrell Blackman with a 20-yard TD w/ 10:46 left in the 4th quarter. Kennedy regains the lead for Akron with a 1-yard TD with 5:20 left.

Kennedy runs for 120 yards and adds a 24-yard completion, while Getsy throws for 240 yards as Akron outplays N.C. State, outgaining the Wolfpack 412 to 290.
