Virginia Tech's defense is smothering holding the Cavaliers to just 112 yards and 5 first downs. All the numbers are ugly for the Cavaliers as Jameel Sewell is just 10-of-21 for 66 yards and 1 INT, and Jason Snelling is the leading rusher with just 21 yards on 13 carries.

With its dominating defense, Virginia Tech needs minimal production from its offense. George Bell's 1-yard TD in the final minute of the 1st half breaks a scoreless tie. Then Sean Glennon hits Eddie Royal with a 49-yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter.
