Game Notes

#18 Demon Deacons rout Seminoles 30-0 for a landmark victory.

Wake Forest wins its 9th game for the 1st time in school history, beating Florida State for the 1st time in 33 years, and in Tallahassee for the 1st time since 1959. Meanwhile, Florida State suffers its 1st shutout since 1988, and the first blanking in Doak Campbell Stadium during Bobby Bowden's 31-year tenure at FSU.

The Deacs play near flawless football, holding the Noles to just 139 yards offense and forcing 4 turnovers, converting them into 17 points. Wake Forest commits no turnovers while possessing the ball for over 35 minutes.

After Sam Swank puts Wake Forest up 6-0 on a pair of his 3 FGs, Riley Skinner hits John Tereshinksi for an 18-yard TD pass and Richard Belton adds a 33-yard TD run opening a 20-0 lead before halftime. Kevin Patterson's 48-yard INT return for a TD in the 3rd quarter slams the door on FSU.
