Virginia Tech flashes its trademark habit of scoring on returns, scoring on an INT, punt and kickoff for its 1st 3 TDs opening a 24-3 lead. The Hokies need just 219 yards of offense to win because of the opportunistic returns.

D.J. Parker returns an INT 32 yards for a score just 1:10 into the contest. Eddie Royal's 82-yard punt return makes it 17-0 w/ 4:48 remaining in the 1st quarter. Then Victor Harris returns a kickoff 100 yards for a TD after Clemson had gotten on the board with a FG early in the 2nd quarter.
