Louisiana Tech manages just 12 1st downs and 236 total yards, but the Bulldogs force 3 turnovers by Northern Illinois and get a 97-yard KO return for a TD by Phillip Livas to tie the game 7-7 late in the 1st quarter.

Daniel Porter gives the Bulldogs the lead with an 11-yard TD run and Brad Oestriecher extends it to 17-7 with a 30-yard FG in the 3rd quarter. Cornerback Weldon Brown grabs the spot line with a fumble recovery and INT while making 14 tackles.
