Game Notes

Commodores strike late to beat the Eagles 16-14 for a historically rare bowl victory.

Bryant Hahnfeldt hits a 45-yard FG w/ 3:26 left in the game to overcome a 14-13 deficit and help Vanderbilt to its first bowl win since 1955, in the Commodores' first bowl berth since 1982. Vanderbilt manages just 200 yards and 8 first downs on offense, but forces 3 turnovers on defense.

Hahnfeldt stakes Vanderbilt to a 6-0 lead in the 1st quarter with a pair of FGs, but Boston College takes the lead on Dominique Davis' 4-yard TD pass to Montel Harris late in the 1st half. However, the Commodores regain the lead when Sean Richardson pounces on a fumble in the end zone after the ball bounces off Paul Anderson's knee on a punt. The Eagles go back in front on Davis' 55-yard TD pass to Colin Larmond Jr. midway through the final quarter.
