Cale Gundy sets an Oklahoma and Big 8 bowl record, throwing for 329 yards. Gundy goes 25-of-31 and tosses 2 TD passes in leaving Virginia stunned. Mike Gaddis runs for 104 yards and 3 TDs.

After Gundy's 10-yard TD pass to Joey Mickey gives the Sooners a 7-0 lead in the 1st quarter, Oklahoma erupts for 27 more in the 2nd quarter before Virginia finally gets on the board. Gaddis has a pair of TD runs, then Russell Jones scores on a blocked punt, before Gundy connects with Mickey again, on a 13-yard TD pass.
