When its all settled, the Midshipmen beat the Bears 42-38 behind backup QB Ben Fay.

Fay leads Navy on 2 long 4th-quarter TD drives to rally past Cal. The Bears set the tone for the game immediately as Deltha O'Neal returns the opening kickoff 100 yards for a TD. O'Neal adds a 31-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter, and Pat Barnes tosses 3 TDs in the first half helping the Bears to a 35-28 halftime lead.

Ryan Longwell's 41-yard FG in the 3rd quarter extends Cal's lead to 38-28. But then Fay caps a pair of scoring drives with TD runs in the 4th quarter.

Navy's Cory Schemm catches 5 passes for 194 yards, including a 52-yard reception on the winning drive.

Barnes leads the Bears going 27-of-38 for 313 yards and 3 TDs. Tony Gonzalez catches 9 for 69 yards and Bobby Shaw has a pair of TD catches.
