Chargers whip the Redskins 30-3 in LaDanian Tomlinson's NFL debut.

Tomlinson carries 36 times for 113 yards and 2 TDs leading San Diego. Tim Dwight gives the Chargers a quick 7-0 lead with an 84-yard punt return for a TD. Tomlinson adds a 3-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter as San Diego extends the lead to 20-0 by halftime.

Meanwhile, Washington is inept. The Redskins manage 8 first downs, fumble 7 times (losing 2) while suffering 2 INTs. Jeff George is yanked after going 8-of-18 for 66 yards.
