Drew Brees is near perfect, hitting 22 of 25 passes for 281 yards and 5 TDs as San Diego dominates, building a 42-7 lead in less than 3 quarters. Brees' 17-yard TD pass to Justin Peele gets the Chargers started, and LaDainian Tomlinson follows with a 1-yard TD run.

Tyrone Wheatley's 5-yard TD run gets Oakland back into the contest in the 2nd quarter, temporarily. Brees hits Keennan McCardell with a 13-yard TD pass, and then Tim Dwight on a 23-yarder just before halftime.
