Game Notes

Raiders flip off the Oilers 34-0 on MNF.

Houston horrible as Oakland plods through a methodically whipping climaxed by an bored/frustrated Oilers fan flipping off ABC cameras, in a classic moment as Dandy Don suggests the fan was saying who was #1.

The Raiders score 21 points in the 4th quarter to turn the game into a rout, but Houston's offense makes the outcome a foregone conclusion long before then. Dan Pastorini is a miserable 3-of-21 for 31 yards with 4 INTs. Kent Nix enters add throws a 5th pick.

The critical turnover comes late in the 1st half, with Oakland leading just 3-0 thanks to a lethargic performance. Pastorini attempts a pass deep in his own end with less than 30 seconds remaining rather than running out the clock. Phil Villapiano intercepts the pass, setting up Daryle Lamonica's 16-yard TD pass to Fred Biletnikoff w/ :04 left.

Lamonica finishes 12-of-26 for 166 yards, and adds a 27-yard TD pass to Mike Siani in the 4th quarter for a 20-0 lead.
