Game Notes

Seahawks hold on for a 23-19 win over the Chiefs, finishing with a winning record in their 3rd season.

Seattle finishes 9-7 after Kansas City's desperate rally falls incomplete on the final play. The Seahawks jump out to a 20-3 lead in the 1st half on the strength of a big day from Al Hunter, who rushes for 133 yards and 2 TDs.

After Jim Zorn starts Seattle with a 57-yard TD pass to Steve Largent on the opening possession, Hunter adds a 1-yard run and then pushes the lead to 20-3 with a 55-yard TD sprint, passing the 100-yard mark with 5:12 left in the 2nd quarter.

However, Kansas City creeps back into the game, getting a 1-yard TD run by Arnold Morgado w/ 1:56 left in the 1st half following an INT by Gary Barbaro. Then Tony Reed highlights his big day with a 63-yard TD run cutting it to 20-17 in the 3rd quarter. Reed rushes for 121 yards, finishing with 1,053 yards on the season.

However, Kansas City's rally slows, and Efren Herrera's 31-yard FG w/ 6:47 left in the game gives the Seahawks critical cushion.
