Game Notes

Patriots stage a huge 4th quarter rally to beat the Vikings 27-23 in Jim Marshall's final game.

New England trails 16-7 beginning the 4th quarter, however, the Patriots quickly reverse things. Don Calhoun cuts it to 16-14 with a 1-yard TD plunge. After Minnesota gambles and fails on a fake punt, Steve Grogan hits Harold Jackson for a 40-yard TD on the next play to take a 21-16 lead.

Raymond Clayborn intercepts Tommy Kramer on the Vikings' next play from scrimmage setting up a FG by John Smith for a 24-16 New England lead.

Grogan throws for 2 TDs, while Jackson has 147 yards receiving. Meanwhile, Ahmad Rashad surpasses John Gilliam to become the Vikings' career leading in receiving yardage.
