Patriots outlast the Seahawks in a shootout 37-31.

Steve Grogan throws for 271 yards and 3 TDs, including a 16-yard strike to Don Hasselbeck that gives New England the lead w/ 2:52 left in the game. Raymond Clayborn intercepts Seattle's final hope, and the Patriots run out the clock.

Grogan connects with Stanley Morgan on a pair of big TD passes in the 1st half, first 68 yards to tie the game 10-10 and then 40 yards to take the lead 17-10. The Patriots go ahead 27-17 on Horace Ivory's 20-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter.

However, Jim Zorn rallies Seattle. Zorn throws for 312 yards and 4 TDs, connecting on 2 TDs with Steve Largent and 2 more with Sam McCullum. Zorn's final TD pass to McCullum gives the Seahawks the lead 31-30 w/ 8:57 left in the game. Largent has 6 catches for 127 yards.
