The Young Women of our Ward....
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints,
or as some people call it, Mormons, is a world-wide spread religion.
The Church has many standards, some including the "Word
of Wisdom". The "Word of Wisdom" means:
No Smoking {Tobacco}
No Strong Drinks
No Tea {Herbal Only}
No Caffiene
Use Meat Sparingly
Use Grains
Eat Fruits
The Lord said, "And all Saints who remember to keep and
do these sayings, walking with the commandments, shall recieve health
in their navel and marrow in their bones."
The Youth {ages 12-18} also have standards they are expected to follow;
but they dont have to because we believe in Free Agency, or the freedom
to chose. Here are some standards:
Do not go to dances until you have reached 14
Do not date until you have reached 16
Date in groups until you are 18
Do not watch "R" rated movies
Do not expose yourself to "worldly" materials,
media, or foul language
Keep thoughts and actions pure

The members of our church read what we call the "Scriptures". The Scriptures
include the Bible {King James Version} and the Book of Mormon . The Book
of Mormon is a book that was translated by our first Latter-Day Prophet,
Joseph Smith, in the early 1800's. It talks about the coming of Christ
and our Prophets of Old. If you would like a completely free copy
of the Book of Mormon, call 1-(888)-537-7111.
We also believe in Everlasting Life. That means we believe that after
this life, we will live in a Spirit World, and see everyone and everything
again. We believe in "Time and All Eternity", not "Death Do Us Part".
John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his Only Begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but shall have
everlasting life." We believe that that is why Christ died for us, So
we could live after this life.
We have guidelines that tell what we believe. They are called "The Articles
of Faith". They are listed below.
1) We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ,
and in the Holy Ghost.
2) We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for
Adam's transgression.
3) We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be
saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4) We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are
first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism
by emmersion for the remission of sins; fourth, laying on of hands for
the Gift of the Holy Ghost.
5) We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the
laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel
and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6) We believe in the same organizations that existed in the Primitive
Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and
so forth.
7) We believe in the gift of tounges, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing,
interpretation of tounges, and so forth.
8) We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated
correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9)We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and
we believe that he will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining
to the Kingdom of God.
10) We believe in the literal gathering of Israel an in the restoration
of the Ten Tribes; and that Zion {the New Jerusalem} will be built upon
the American Continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth;
and, that the earth will be renewed and recieve its paradisiacal glory.
11) We claim the privilege of worshiping the Almighty God according to
the dictates of our own conscience, and allow men the same privilege,
let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12) We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magisrates,
in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13) We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and
in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition
of Paul--We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured manythings,
and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous,
lovely, or of good report, or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
-----Joseph Smith
