We
are the Lloyds, Doug and Ruth Ann also known on
the
web as AK Hawg Hunter and Slamin . I have been
in
Alaska for 18 years and Slamin is still a cheechako
(a
new Alaskan) has been here for 11 years. You
are
always
a cheechako to anyone who has been in alaska
longer
than you.
We
live in the Matanuska Valley about 45 miles north
of
Anchorage, Alaska's largest city. Our address says
Wasilla
Alaska but we actually live 5 miles or so from
there
in a rural subdivision. Wasilla is the Home of the
Iditarod
sled dog race (Anchorage to Nome)
the longest
sled
dog race in the world 1049 miles.
We
have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren 2 dogs
(Killer
the Poodle and Ranger the Dumation) and CC
the
cat.
We
both love to fish for anything with fins. In Alaska
our
favorite fish are King Salmon know to most of you
as
the Chinook. Our King season is best from the middle of June until the
4th of July weekend here in the
Matanuska
Valley. The timing of salmon runs are different in other parts of the state.
We also fish for Silver Salmon (Coho) Red Salmon (Sockeye) Rainbow Trout,
Pike and well like I said anything with fins.
